Sycamore eLearning
The Indiana State Area of Training and Development and the Department of Human Resources are proud to announce the arrival of Sycamore eLearning, a new online training resource.
Overview
Sycamore eLearning is free to Indiana State currently enrolled students. It can be accessed from the Web 24 x 7, and some exciting areas of interest to this new site are videos, books, study aids, test preps and more.
Students can take advantage of the free online books, certification prep courses, and job readiness skills training that can help prepare them for jobs after graduation. There are over 10,000 eBooks available through Sycamore eLearning, which can be a huge cost saver for students.
The certification prep courses include videos, books, study aids, and sample questions. IT and business certification tracks include Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Oracle, Six Sigma, PHR, and more. This will save in costs normally associated with these expensive training materials. If students would like to be certified in a specific field, they would only need to pay for taking the actual exam at an off-site location. The ISU Career Center is also currently using this online learning community as part of their new student certification program.
There are nearly 1,000 desktop and IT training topics including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Windows 8, Adobe, programming languages, and web development. If students would like to take advantage of this training but do not have a lot of free time, there are also quick, 1-hour courses available through Sycamore eLearning that include topics such as; leadership, management, customer service, resume writing, interviewing skills, sales, marketing, communication, presentation, team building, finance, accounting, business ethics, time management, and more.
